REGISTRATION OPEN: 3rd Annual Dutch Parkinson Scientists Congress November 2nd and 3rd, 2023 – Nijmegen
Parkinson’s disease – Prevention from prodromal to palliative
On Thursday November 2nd, all junior DPS members are welcome in Nijmegen for a workshop on how to communicate your science to people with Parkinson(ism) and their spouses.
Junior DPS pre-conference:How to communicate your Parkinson(ism) research to people with Parkinson(ism) and their caregivers in written text
The Parkinson Vereniging will share how they communicate to their members, experience experts will provide practical tips and tricks on how to communicate your research, and you will work together on your own text. All written texts can be published on the website of the Parkinson Vereniging afterwards.
Moreover, the best summary will be published in the magazine of the Parkinson Vereniging!
We start at 13.00h and we will close the pre-conference with drinks at 17.00h. This will be a great opportunity to disseminate your work and to connect to other junior researchers in the field.
The junior DPS pre-conference is free for junior DPS members. After the pre-conference, we will have a dinner where all senior members are also welcome to join. The dinner and stay for the night are at your own costs.
We hope to see you in Nijmegen on the 2nd of November!
Parkinson Vereniging
On Friday November 3rd, the annual Dutch Parkinson Scientists congress shall be held at the Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen. The congress is specifically intended for researchers in the field of Parkinson’s disease and shall focus on current and recent research of various research labs in the Netherlands.
About the event
The theme for this year’s annual congress, prevention from prodromal to palliative, follows the public discourse on eliminating Parkinson’s disease’s inherent adversity from the general population. To optimize inclusion, prevention has a broad scope, ranging from the earliest prodromal stages until palliative care.
The program includes a keynote by Thomas Foltynie (UCL), presentations of promising research by various Dutch research labs, discussions with patient researchers and researchers, as well as poster presentations for researchers to display their works.
We are very excited to announce Thomas Foltynie as the keynote speaker for the third national symposium of the Dutch Parkinson Scientists (DPS), which will be held on November 3 here in Nijmegen. Thom is Professor of Neurology at University College London. Apart from leading a neurology clinic, he leads several outstanding trials in Parkinson’s disease, including one of the most promising disease-modifying trials worldwide investigating the anti-diabetic drug exenatide, as well as several other putative neurorestorative and symptomatic therapies. During his keynote lecture on November 3, he will cover the latest insights of such tertiary prevention trials.
You definitely don’t want to miss this! Register for the upcoming conference in Nijmegen, which is free for all DPS members! If you are not a DPS member yet, you can easily become a member through the same registration link:
