‘High Hopes’ Episode I, the story

“Green fields, a cold rain is falling in a golden dawn”

Sometimes you can ask yourself what we are doing in the world. When I was young, life smiled at me, the World was at my feet. Back in the 70’s we could enjoy freedom, nature, travel and a smoke. All this thanks to our great-grandparents and parents, who had fought their way to freedom after a terrible time, a devastating Second World War, and thus paved the way to Freedom for us. A road that we were allowed to walk for a long time until humanity decided to become more and more greedy. I’ve always said that I “worked to live, not lived to work.” I was satisfied with what I had, and ‘money was the filth of the earth.’ Yet I too was exposed to wanting more and more, if only because it was just available. Still, it was always a point of dislike, the question why? Enough is enough, and there’s no shame in having something you can’t get, so you took it with what you had and have.

The world was getting bigger and bigger for us, after all, you could go to all corners. It gave us opportunities and we wanted, at all costs, to use this world in all those corners. Again, for our greed, under the guise of ‘we have to be able to feed the whole world’, something that has always amazed me. Because if you can’t stop any war or conflict, how the hell are you going to reach all those people? It had become a revenue model, just like healthcare. And here we came to the tipping point to use all means to earn more, to make it as good as possible for ‘us’. We dump garbage in the areas we label as third world, why? At the same time, we want to feed them better in these countries, without being able to ensure that the conflicts and wars between groups and countries stop there first. Again, to enrich us more and more. Isn’t that hypocritical? Now, in this day and age, more and more people are getting sick, using all the means at hand, or as Roger Waters mentioned in the song ‘What God wants, God gets’, we are creating a devastating world.

Now that I have been able to receive Parkinson’s disease myself, I am increasingly aware, partly due to the book “The Parkinson Pandemic, a Script for Action” by Bas Bloem and Jorrit Hoff (incl. Michael Okun, Ray Dorsey, Todd Sherer), that people get sick due to environmental factors, filth and crop protection products, and that only because of our greed. The government is supposed to protect us, but here too we are well past the tipping point and again making more money is the cause. And we are at the beginning of an even greater disaster, a possible Third World War, if we don’t quickly go back to the moment of tipping over. A transition of how things should be done and quickly. Ronnie James Dio sings about it beautifully in the song ‘This is Your Life’, in which he asks you to go back to where it was good, and thus turn the tide. Together we can take on the world, let’s do it now, because even with Parkinson’s disease there are ‘Silver Linings’, beautifully sung by Sofia Dragt.
One of the pathogenic dangers that must be eliminated in order to gain more control is to stop using crop protection products such as Glyphosate, which is included in Roundup. In November 2023, we were almost at ‘The Final Countdown’, the song by Europe!

The day After Glyphosate was not banned!

It couldn’t be more appropriate, Europe would ban Glyphosate, unfortunately the power of the lobbyists, including Bayer (formerly Monsanto) was too great. Money is the key to this stalemate, because Money is Power, basta!
Scientists from all over the world pulled the ‘Division Bell’, also in Europe, giving us ‘High Hopes’, performed by the legendary band Pink Floyd

Bas bloem wrote the following about this,
“My reaction to the outcome of the European vote on the extension of : let’s work with all stakeholders in the coming years, to make the right choices based on sound scientific insights.”

“The aim of cooperation is that farmers and horticulturists can do their good work without health concerns, local residents can live in the countryside with confidence, consumers can enjoy Dutch agricultural and horticultural products with confidence, and reduces global impact.”

Bas Bloem, Professor of Neurological Movement Disorders at Nijmegen’s Radboud university medical center

We’ll walk the Roads to Madness’, Warning! Queensryche’s piercing songs tells us the warning that we need to stop in order to give the next generations of GenZ and GenAlfa a better future, world and freedom. We, in turn, owe it to them, just as our grandparents and parents were at the time of the Second World War and afterwards. We, the generation of wanting to have it all, have to stop this. It’s the turn of the new Re-Generation, they’re going to make the difference. Just look at Greta Thunberg, she was, is and will remain angry, until the Change arrives. And many, many with her.
STOP GLYPHOSATE (the first step so that people don’t get sick so quickly), and all dirty environmental factors and factories.

The great glyphosate lawsuit!

After the European Union again released Glyphosate for use for another 10 years, health organizations and groups such as PAN Europe decided to take the EU to court. But alas, ‘Money’ is the culprit again, rather sick people than less money. Pink Floyd wrote the song back in 1973 for their album ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, the very first album I bought from Pink Floyd when I was 13 years old. Since then, the band has not left my mind and I have bought many albums and seen concerts several times.
‘What now? More money, more illness, more healthcare costs. How God created the ‘earth’, how the ‘devil’ squandered it!’

“There is an Important announcement”

As more and more evidence emerge that crop protection products such as Glyphosate cause Parkinson’s disease and other diseases, why aren’t policymakers listening, you might ask? There are also large lobbyists from the pharmaceutical world who benefit from selling their medicines, because healthcare has also become a revenue model, just look at how many people come to each hospital every day. Way too much!

Throughout the world, we continue to fight to get the toxic substances out of the environment, because no one benefits from an aging sick population, which threatens our right to exist. We must be very aware that if the Western countries become too ill, the so-called ‘third world’ will no longer be of any use to us. We need to undergo a Mind Change. In the song ‘A Pillow of Winds’, again by Pink Floyd, it is clearly sung about how we used to have it, and now?

‘Als je door onze ogen keek, zou je schreeuwen’

“Stop! I don’t want to hear it anymore”

We are gradually fed up with it, just as Melanie sang in 1972, and would prefer not to hear anything about it anymore. But the battle is not over yet, so we will have to talk to each other again, seek dialogue and look each other in the eye about how, what, why and especially when!
It has to be, because Parkinson’s disease is the fastest growing ‘Brain Damage’ disease there is, there are now more than 65000 in the Netherlands, and in the World more than 10 million people with Parkinson’s disease!

“Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”

Albert Einstein

“Always had high, high hopes, mama said fulfill the prophecy, be something greater, go make a legacy, manifest destiny”

The fact that we have ‘High Hopes’ that the policymakers are going to ban Glyphosate after all, gives us strength and courage to continue the fight, Shaking Hands With The Devil!
They convince them that they are wrong, not because we ‘want to be right’, but because we want to convince them of the necessity that healthcare is already under so much pressure, and if you look at how many healthcare professionals, we Parkinsonians need to a lesser, but certainly more extent, healthcare will be overwhelmed in the coming decades.

“So you found your solution. What will be your last contribution?
Live it up, rip it up, why so lazy? Give it out, dish it out, let’s go crazy, yes!”

How many policymakers of political parties consider themselves to be quite a, thinking that ‘they’ want the best for their supporters, but forget about the rest. If you want to become a doctor, it has to be out of compassion and not out of power, that’s how it is in politics. You go for everyone, not just your own supporters. And that’s often where the shoe pinches.

“We are now at the point where we have to say: this era, this industrial way of life, has brought us a lot, but we can’t go on like this. We need to restore the capacity and productivity of the natural system. In other words, regenerating. The coming period will be all about strengthening, instead of weakening, the Earth as the source and carrier of all life.”

Fight for your world and join the World Wildlife Fund. Together we ensure more nature and a livable earth. Because ultimately we all depend on it. And although we humans put pressure on nature, we also hold the key to the solution. Saving nature is saving ourselves. Do you want to know how you can help? Then check, WWF

‘Fool’s Overture’ by Supertramp unerringly exposes this, seeing and feeling beyond your own soul. Can you do that, get over your own ego and be there for everyone?
I sincerely hope that this will happen in the coming times, because this is also a challenge.
Does wisdom come with age? To be honest, I don’t believe this in this matter, because is it ‘wise’ to allow Glyphosate for another ten years when you know that people will get sick from it, especially those people who have to work with it. It’s going to be ‘Time’ to face that.

“No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun, and you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking, racing around to come up behind you again, the sun is the same in a relative way but you’re older, shorter of breath and one day closer to death.”

“A story told that can’t be real, somehow musts reflect the truth we feel, yes”

Why? , why is it so hard to see that we are on the wrong track, is it not time to change course. And more importantly, admit our mistakes, fix it, and start over. We desperately need each other right now to press the ‘Reset’ button and create a healthy living environment and healthier food for everyone. It is ‘The Sign of the Southern Cross’, we are told a story that is not true, somehow it has to reflect the truth that we feel. Black Sabbath perform this song when there is no light, when no one sees it. The world is so incredibly beautiful, with all its beauty and enormous discoveries, which can and must still go on, And the leaves turn green to red to brown, Fall to the ground And get kicked around’, ‘We should give beautiful a second chance’!
Another powerful song with formidable lyrics, performed by Marillion. Dark clouds are passing over our continent of Europe, ‘Obscured by Clouds’ it is a Black Day for Health and Biodiversity: European Commission withdraws proposal to reduce pesticides.

Obscured by Clouds

‘President Ursula von der Leyen’s announcement to repeal the Pesticide Reduction Act (SUR) marks the end of an abhorrent opposition, led by the agrochemical industry, to healthier, future-proof agriculture for the EU’

A slap in the face for all those scientists, researchers, citizens and organic farmers who show that things can be done differently.

‘A man sitting in a tree, reaching out to pick the fruit from one of its branches.’

“The European Commission has just taken a decision that is harmful to farmers and their families, as the first victims of pesticide use. Pesticide pollution is a major problem that needs to be addressed. It pollutes our waters, harms our health, and destroys the biodiversity we depend on. It destroys fertile soil and endangers long-term food production. We need to work quickly towards a healthy and sustainable form of agriculture. Doing nothing is not an option in the face of the biodiversity crisis we are in. Thousands of scientists and millions of citizens have urged EU politicians to take urgent action.”

‘The sweet smell of a great sorrow lies over the land, Plumes of smoke rise and merge into the leaden Sky.’

A man lies and dreams of green fields and rivers but wakes up one morning with no reason to wake up and is haunted by the memory of a paradise lost. Yes, it’s a ‘Paradise Lost!’
These lyrics of the song ‘Sorrow’ (again Pink Floyd) say it all, we can shout all we want, protest, go to court, nothing helps to give paradise lost its shine and beauty back.
We’ll have to resign ourselves to it, for now, and so will ‘Sacred Earth: Sunrise by Dean Evenson. Until then, we have to ‘hope’ that the once sung, and with fantastic clip ‘Earth Song’ by Michael Jackson will save us, wake us up and that humanity will stop the Destruction, with all its misery, of our Mother Earth.

Only we can do this!
